The Follow these
guidelines for at least the next twenty-one
days, and they will become new eating habits
that will stay with you forever. Print them off
and put them in places where you will see them
every day.
- Stick to three small healthy
meals a day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- Be grateful for each and every meal.
- Drink between three and six pints of water a
day.
- Avoid eating a heavy dinner late in
the evening.
- Eat slowly and chew your
food well.
- Put your knife and fork down
between each mouthful of food.
- Give your
full attention to your food by eating
consciously.
- Stop eating as soon as you
feel full and throw any leftover food away.
- Cut out deserts after a full meal.
- Do not snack in between meals other than fruit
or vegetables.
Embrace these tips and
work on accepting them as part of your core
beliefs through repetition. They are key
elements for creating healthy new eating habits.
The 80/20 Rule
Stick to
your three small healthy meals a day and always
avoid aimlessly snacking between meals. However,
it is okay on the odd occasion if you have a
blowout, but do try to stick to the 80/20 rule:
if 80 percent of the time you are doing the good
stuff—eating well and exercising—then you can
allot 20 percent of the time for guilt-free
overindulgence.
You may go to a party or
to dinner and drink too much or eat too much
rich food. This is okay now and again, but don’t
let it disrupt your overall healthy lifestyle
plan. If ever you ever overdo it, don’t beat
yourself up, just vow to get back on track the
following day. Accept that you may experience
the odd lapse from time to time, but affirm that
it won’t affect your long-term aims. Nothing
runs smoothly 100 percent of the time; there
will be a few ups and downs. This should not be
a problem if you are focused on a long-term
holistic goal.
If you ever have a little blip
and overindulge, work it off soon after by being
more active and exercising. When you take
control of your weight, bouncing back like this
becomes a normal and natural way of being and
not something that you have to work at. The main
thing I have learned from ten years of being a hypnotherapist is that the mind has unlimited
potential. It knows no limitation.
Often it is
fear that stops us from living life to the
fullest and fear of change that prevents us
moving forward. Use the unlimited power of your
mind to live the way you know is best for
you—free of junk food and drink.
