Lemuria Emerging - Description The songs on this album were recorded whilst Anima were living with the indigenous peoples of the Peru and Bolivia. Inspired by the spiritual connection these people still retain with their ancestors and our Earth Mother, these songs are a blend of inspirational lyrics and vocals including recordings of ancient chants recorded during ayahausca ceremonies, accompanied by guitar, piano, didgeridoo and layers of strings and melodies. Blue Anima Biography Emotionally stirring and inspirational music covering a range of genres from Acoustic and New Age to Electronica and Dance; Blending world instruments and evocative vocals with guitar, didgeridoo and Native American flutes, mixed with deeply textured soundscapes and ambient rhythms. Ali Calderwood began Anima in 2004, coming together with Daniela Broder in 2006 whilst travelling and performing in Mexico. They created their first album Lemuria Emerging (released in 2007) while living amongst the tribal peoples of Peru and Bolivia. Since returning to the UK, they have performed their music in many venues and events throughout England and Scotland, where they are fast becoming known for their unique style and presence, and for their ability to create emotionally stirring and deeply inspirational music. In 2008 Anima released their EP Crystaligned Dreams, and more recently (November 2010), they released two new albums, Temple of the Heart and Temple of the Stars. These four albums have just been released through Diviniti Publishing who they signed a non exclusive distribution deal with, enabling them to continue as independent artists. All of Anima’s music is composed, recorded and produced themselves. Anima have supported and played in concert alongside internationally renowned musicians including Craig Pruess, Nigel Shaw and Carolyn Hillyer. They have been featured on several radio stations and magazines including the UK’s leading Mind Body and Spirit journal, Kindred Spirit.
